If you’ve ever wandered the streets of India, maybe through a bustling market in Jaipur or a tucked-away lane in Delhi, you’ll know that it’s not a quiet affair. It’s a full-blown sensory explosion. Colours everywhere, jewellery blinging from every corner, and the unmistakable aroma of street-side chai in the air. Jewellery there isn’t just an accessory. It’s an experience. It glows from every shop window, jingles from street stalls, and glitters with an unmistakable bling – the kind that draws you in, not just with its shine but with its spirit.

When I moved to Ireland, I carried those memories with me. I missed that chaos, that energy, and the vibe where you’re blinded by bangles before breakfast and spoilt for choice by teatime. So, I thought… why not bring a piece of that beautiful chaos here?

That’s how Gilded Desi was born: to celebrate the feeling of adornment. Not just for special occasions, but as a daily expression of who we are.

What "Desi" Means to Us

"Desi” isn’t just a label. It’s the heartbeat of our brand.

The word “Desi” comes from the Sanskrit word “Desh” (देश), meaning “country” or “homeland". Over time, “Desi” became a colloquial term commonly used to describe the people, cultures, and traditions of the Indian subcontinent. But more than geography, Desi is a spirit: vibrant, soulful, unapologetically expressive. Be it the vibrancy of a bustling bazaar, the rhythm of a folk melody, the warmth of shared heritage, or the boldness of self-expression, Desi is a vibe that is no longer limited to just a particular region of the world.

Bridging two worlds, with Love

Gilded Desi is a blend of my two homes. Rooted in the richness of Indian craftsmanship, wrapped in the grace and elegance of Ireland. Think temple-inspired gold earrings paired with linen dresses. Think bold cuff bracelets that look just as good in a Galway café as they do at an Indian wedding.
It’s a marriage of heritage and minimalism, colour and calm, tradition and trend. Each piece is thoughtfully chosen to marry the two beautiful worlds that I know and love. And thankfully, no one has to fly a thousand miles to get their hands on them!

Our pieces are thoughtfully sourced and proudly designed by Indian artisans using techniques passed down through generations, and they are curated with care right here in Ireland. Each piece is personal to me, handpicked and curated with love and respect – not just for where it comes from, but for the home it finds in you.

I’m here to add a little extra sparkle to the gorgeous diversity that already exists in this country.
